Altar Angels

The Altar Angels are dedicated parishioners who humbly care for the Communion linens used during Mass. They wash, iron, and fold the vestments and altar linens (corporals, purificators, palls, lavabo towels, and terry towels) used for Communion at Mass. They also clean and repair the candle holders. The Altar Angels pick up the linens after attending Mass on the weekend and return the clean and fresh linens the following weekend before Mass.

Altar Servers

An altar server assists the priest during a liturgy. Tasks may include carrying the cross, ringing the altar bell, helping with the gifts, and bringing up the liturgical books. An altar server may be a candle bearer or thurifer (incense bearer). Adults and children are welcome to be altar servers at Resurrection.

Art & Environment

The Art and Environment Committee is responsible for making sure the worship space is both beautiful and welcoming according to the liturgical season. While following Diocesan guidelines, the committee decorates for Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Ordinary Time, and special feasts such as Pentecost. Duties of the committee members range from changing the color of the shroud in the Commons or the color of the altar cloth to arranging more than forty lilies or poinsettias, setting up Christmas trees and creche, and hanging wreaths.

Extraordinary Ministers

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion or Precious Blood during Mass.

Lector Ministry

Lectors are ministers of the word. They proclaim the first and second readings at Mass. They also lead the Prayer of the Faithful.

Music

Our Music Ministry provides music during liturgies. On Saturday the traditional vocal choir rehearses at 4:00 pm for the 5:00 pm Mass, sings in four-part harmony, and performs monthly anthems. On Sunday the contemporary instrumental/vocal group rehearses at 3:00 pm for the 4:00 pm Mass and performs monthly contemporary songs at the Youth Mass.

Join our music ministry! New singers and instrumentalists are always welcome. No music reading experience is needs. All materials, hymnals, and sheet music are provided.

Hallelujah!! How good to celebrate our God in song. – Psalm 147:1

Sacristan

The Sacristan is a person who takes care of the sacristy, the church, and their contents, such as the sacred vessels and vestments. He or she is responsible for the preparation and restoration of the church and sacristy to an orderly pre-liturgy condition.

Ushers

Ushers greet and welcome people as they enter the church. They help to seat those who come to Mass, take up the collection, lead the faithful to Communion, and distribute bulletins.
