The St. Vincent de Paul Team
The St. Vincent de Paul team is a volunteer organization here at resurrection that serves the financially needy in Bedford and Franklin counties, regardless of religious background.
Our organization provides short term limited financial assistance for rent, food, gas, electricity, etc. Decisions for assistance are determined by home visits or phone interviews. We rely solely on periodic collections at church, memorial gifts, gifts from organizations (Joyous Junk & Holy Strokes), and donations in the “Poor Box” located in the commons area of the church.

Lake Christian Ministries
This ecumenical effort provides assistance with food, clothing, limited financial help, furniture, etc. for those in the SML area
Bedford Christian Free Clinic
Provides general medical treatment of non-emergency health problems for patients 18 years of age and older. Also provides low cost medications to patients seen at the clinic.
SML Good Neighbors
Free programs that develop good neighbor skills and values in children through programs that nourish, educate, and support them. Services provided include nutritional and educational enrichment.
RAM House
Roanoke Area Ministries is an ecumenical urban ministry that serves the Roanoke Valley by providing safe shelter for the homeless, a nutritious lunch and emergency financial aid to those in need.
Bedford Ride
Volunteer drivers provide non-emergency transportation services for medical appointments.
Helping Hands
Based in Franklin County, provides emergency financial aid for the poor, sick and elderly. Promotes self-empowerment by counseling, budgeting and goal setting and refers to other agencies for other forms of assistance.
Shepherd’s Table
The Shepherd's Table serves a free lunch meal to anyone who walks through their doors - no questions asked. Every person who comes to us is welcomed without regard to employment status, race, sex, age, color, national origin, religious preference, handicap or income.
CASA
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Central Virginia promotes the best interests of abused and neglected children through treatment, advocacy, prevention and education. Volunteers must be specially trained.
Bedford Pregnancy Center
Helps women and children in unplanned pregnancy situations. Educates them about options available, referrals to pre-natal care and other community resources, provides counseling and ongoing support.
